After upgrading to ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, I encountered a new problem which at first caused me to think my keyboard is broken. Typing in certain applications (Word, Excel, iTunes, form fields in IE, etc. causes the wrong characters to appear. That is, I can repeatedly type the letter "i" and see the characters "qwertyuiop[]\..." instead. However, in the URL bar in IE, or in DOS prompts, for example, this did not happen.
This occurs after the computer has been on for a while. I typically notice it after it has been left alone for a while or if I wake up the computer from sleep mode. Rebooting fixes the problem for a while. I was able to solve it by turning off ZAE's anti-KeyLogger function under Browser Security > ForceField > Settings > Advanced and turning off the "Block programs that secretly record your keystrokes". I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1 with ZoneAlarm ForceField 1.5.36.15. Are there any solutions to this problem? Thanks, --Crandaddy |

The problem has been fixed for me with ForceField build 1.5.53.4, but other have reported here that is still doing it. So, search the board before posting. Its a known issue. ![]() Cheers, Fax
