  • How to Determine exactly what a Detected Item is & its Risk

ZoneAlarm does a great job at finding & preventing a multitude of things.

I am sure that it reclassifies or disinfects items that have been on my system for a long time.

The trouble is, how do I work out exactly what a detection is & what its real risk is?

How can I determine if something has been "reclassified" or has been recently infected?

There may be a pile of "detections" & the file names are meaningless to me.

    Thanks,
    Brian.

    Hello,

the antivirus engine in Zonealarm is supplied by Kaspersky Lab.

You will find the information on the threads detected and risk at the following website:
    https://threats.kaspersky.com/en/threat/

Otherwise you can also look at the Kaspersky Enceclopedia for malware families
    https://encyclopedia.kaspersky.com/

Don't expect to find exactly the detection you have listed in ZA on the above references. There are thousands of new malware added each day and knowledge base is updated not as frequently.

    Thank you,
